About Me

Dr. Abdullah Al Redwan Newaz (Redwan) is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at University of New Orleans, New Orleans, LA. He is also the director of Intelligent Robotics Lab at UNO. Prior to that he was a Postdoctoral Researcher North Carolina A&T State University in 2020-2022, Rice University, Houston, TX, USA, in 2018-2020, and Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan, 2017-2018. He earned Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Information Science from Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Ishikawa, Japan, in 2017 and 2014, respectively. His research interests include environmental monitoring using unmanned systems, planning under uncertainties for safety-critical systems, vision-based perception systems for autonomous cars, and integrated perception and planning for multi-agent systems.
